What To Do in Grimsby - Attractions & Events
Grimsby is quietly nestled between beautiful Lake Ontario and the majestic Niagara Escarpment. From its roots as a service centre to Niagara's thriving agricultural industry, the town has developed to become the preferred place in which to live and do business in Niagara.
Although less than an hour's drive from Toronto's world-class cultural milieu (catch a Blue Jay's game, perhaps a performance of Miss Saigon and home for midnight), Grimsby is the personification of a small town. It's quiet, tree-lined avenues, its rural area, the natural Niagara Escarpment which winds through the town's centre, the beaches on the shores of Lake Ontario, and its many parks define "home" to the town's 19,000 people.
Here are some ideas of what you can do here
- Recreation is serious business, here in Grimsby. There are two marinas in town, and a free boat ramp, so there's no excuse for not taking part in the fabulous fishing, boating and water skiing available on Lake Ontario
- Feel like a nice, quiet walk in the woods? We've got that too, on the Bruce Trail, which winds along the Niagara Escarpment. In the spring, there's the Hawk Watch, taking place at the Beamer Conservation Area
- There are several regulation golf courses within minutes of downtown. And, we've got winter and summer hockey and soccer, tennis, softball, raquetball, swimming and curling
